Snippet - Billy Cobham Exercise
This exercise was invented by the amazing Billy Cobham. It is great to control your fingers! In a 2/4 measure you switch between one bar of 16th single strokes, one bar of 16th double stroke and one bar of 16th sextuplets!
- Do the single strokes and double strokes sound equally? Record yourself (e.g. with your smartphone) to listen to yourself concentrated.
- What’s about your changes between sextuplets and 16th notes? Are they smoothly? Do you pick up directly the exact tempo?
If you have problems with the changes you can accent the first note of every bar. It will help you to pick up the right tempo.
